A Merry Fiddler Paying the Piper

Just purchased tickets to see Mary in "Fiddler" on May 29!
Here's an interview that was just posted on her Facebook page.

I also nabbed discounted tickets just in time for the Radio Enthusiasts of Puget Sound's annual convention in the end of June.

Now it's off to think about hotels for the New England trip! [5:15pm: Yay! Boston is reserved! ... it is at the airport... and there were only three rooms left at the lowest rate... thanks, Linda for telling me to do it sooner rather than later! :) ]

Sigh

(and because I just remembered I can do this... here is the public link for my photo album of Bremerton and a different link for recent backyard pictures... for those of you not on Facebook. hint, hint... lol)

Ready for a Weekend Nap

Everything is quiet now. I'm sitting comfortably in one of the soft armchairs in the kitchen/dining room. Spiffy is laid out at the top of the stairs and all I can hear is the clock ticking away seconds. At lunch this noon I took in "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and was pleasantly surprised with the differences between it and the movie I saw just last year.

Work was crazy for most of this week. The first few days I went over to building 30 at least twice and once, three times, because there were so many MO's that were finished and ready to be reviewed. On Wednesday I reviewed 28 in 6 hours. Today was a different story though, I had almost no work, so I went downstairs and logged in samples the entire time.

In other happenings we watched a movie on Monday that's not worth remembering and on Tuesday I spent a lovely evening with Mom reading Titus and praying for our family and friends. On Wednesday evening I went to a free safety class put on by the Redmond Police Department. Besides talking about how to prevent becoming a victim, they showed us a rather frightening surveillance video from a mall parking lot in Renton. I did walk unusually carefully to my car afterwords (it was even dark), but I successfully avoided having bad dreams.

Wednesday's chat with Mike was particularly fun, each of us having seen the forgettable movie I watched. We went on and on, and I wish we both didn't need sleep. :) Unfortunately, I was tired on Thursday, but nothing was really needing my attention. After work and a quick dinner I read "The Gnats of Knotty Pine" (Bill Peet) and some more in "Mr. Midshipman Hornblower" before I went to bed. Ah, sweet rest.

Humor Me?

The sermon I mentioned on Monday is now posted!

It's the April 25th message.

It's 38 minutes... if time can be made for it sometime soon, would you?

the rest of the day

After finishing my fabulous breakfast Sunday morning, and reading in the Bible, Meg and Mom came home with the pup from getting his shots from the doctor. Meg had spotted a cute little hamster at the pet store, so after Jason came over they decided to go get it and invited me along. Frederica is indeed a very cute little black female hamster. I loved the parakeets enjoying each other's company, and I also enjoyed the guinea pigs... there was a white one with tan spots around his eyes. My legs were a little tender as I walked around, but it wasn't anything that time wouldn't fix.

I slept a little over two hours yesterday afternoon (right after lunch). It felt so good to catch up from a crazily busy and fun weekend before going to work! :) Around six o'clock, Mom and I went to my church for the evening service. If there were any podcast of a sermon I'd recommend listening to, it is this one. Unfortunately, it's not posted yet. Probably within the week.

Back at home the FC had to take off to go see family, so Mom and I watched "An Affair to Remember" for an evening together. I had always thought it would be kinda wrong, because of the title, but goodness! it had nothing to do with "an affair". I proudly shed tears just like Meg Ryan did in "Sleepless in Seattle". What a lovely movie.

35.5 Minutes

In a rash decision on Monday, when my recruiter told me about it, I decided to sign up for the Bellevue 5K run/walk held at the park near the Crossroads Mall. That's 3.1 miles... more than I like to run. The Navy had a booth, and my recruiter was there, although he did not run himself. I got there in plenty of time and warmed up as best I could with lunges and skips. The Marines from the Bellevue office had turned out en mass; apparently it was a required gathering. I was glad that it was left up to self-motivation for me. There were only three other Navy recruits, and they went much faster than I. But I didn't feel too bad about it. I'm a slow runner with a small air pipe... and I only walked off and on a couple times, and only after the first half. But I finished it, darn it! :) This was my very first organized run. What a blessing that it was perfect weather for it: mostly cloudy and cool with a bit of sun peeking through.

Upon returning home I made myself a good, large breakfast with eggs w/cheese, sausage, toast, juice and cereal. And now I have my feet up, resting comfortably under my fleece blanket.

Guess Where I Went Today?

I had been thinking about going to the Bremerton Navy Yard for a while now, and today was the best timing. Everyone else was busy and I had no plans or commitments. I took along my GPS device (especially since I was driving a way I had never been before) and it wanted to send me to the Fauntleroy Ferry, but I kept on going south to Tacoma and then went across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (for the very first time) and then up the peninsula from there for a total drive time of about an hour and a half.

I arrived in Bremerton just after noon, went straight to the USS Turner Joy, a local historic destroyer from the 1950's. Most of the ship is open to self-guided tours and I had a grand time. The 2nd pic is me trying out one of the enlisted bunks... and you could walk all through the engine room! I was very glad of the directional signs posted to help you find your way back to the sunlight! What a maze! Also very cool was the walk-in gun turret on the ship's stern. In the gift shop I got the hat (pictured) for only $6.55, a "Don't tread on me" decal, the ship's crest patch and a navy flag. I wanted to get a USS Missouri poster, but forgot about it. On the way over to the Puget Sound Navy Museum across from the ferry terminal I saw the "Lone Sailor" statue they recently installed on the end of a pier, copying the famous one from DC.

The museum is on the corner of the Bremerton Navy base. Some of it is dedicated to talking about engineering and ship building, since Bremerton has had a ship yard for decades. The rest of the exhibits were all about life on the USS John C. Stennis, the only aircraft carrier based there. There were short videos playing, interviewing sailors about their various jobs. I found it very interesting, even though it was so small. There was a sample bunk to lie on, and lots of information about dining, recreation, medical treatment, and various other stations aboard. It only took me about a half-hour to walk through it. And surprise, surprise, they had that same Missouri poster I wanted for a couple bucks cheaper! The Missouri used to be based in Bremerton before it was sent to Pearl Harbor in 1998.

I spent just over two hours total at the waterfront. And that's what I paid for in parking, so I decided to get lunch somewhere else. My GPS again wanted to send me to the Southworth/Fauntleroy ferry, so this time I obliged. I stopped at Sheri's Restaurant near Fernwood, had a chicken and bacon sandwich (that was grilled with a little too much butter - but it was very good), and then I kept on to the ferry. I didn't have to wait for long at all... and then we made a stop at Vashon Island (just to the south) and then made for South Seattle.

I played around with black & white photography and gazed at the crystal-clear Olympic mountains while on the short ferry ride. As we docked, I looked longingly at the "Private Beach" signs. I shouldn't have worried my head... a half mile from the ferry was a beautiful beachfront park. I walked the entire length on the pebbles, looking at the washed-up seaweed and shells. On the way back to the car I gazed at the surf and the sunshine as I walked the wide, paved path back.

What a gloriously fun time! And lots of fresh air!

Just Now

A rather pleasant afternoon with my Mom. Lunch was fabulous, shopping went perfectly and the movie "Oceans" (done by Disney, for earth day, like last year's "Disney Earth") was like swimming in a watery heaven. I met several creatures for the first time, including a silk blanket octopus! What a strange one!

I probably shouldn't say this, but I can't help it. When I first looked at that fortune, I read it with the word "and" instead of "or". LOL! I mean, why should my friend get an omen in my fortune cookie?! ***Please, no one take this seriously.*** LOL!

Dreadful Dreams

Monday morning (and Sunday night) I felt as though I was ready for taking on the week. (Must they always be "taken on"?) The feeling didn't last very long. I released documents pretty much all day! But after Monday night's terrible dreams I felt stretched thin and ready for bed right away when I got home. Got to bed by 10 or so, and woke up at midnight, right before my dreams were turning bad again. Feeling rattled, I listened to a few Psalms and fell asleep again to them. I woke up this morning earlier than normal, but stayed in bed sort of half-asleep until it was really time to get going.

We haven't had time for movies this week (yet!) because people have been busy. Dad's away on a business trip for the next couple days, and my sister is pretty sick so Mom's been helping her out. (I'm praying for you Andie!)

I'm ready for some incredibly dull dreams. The kind that make you rest completely.

Best of Sundays

I actually did the important things that I set out to do today; and I feel rested!

On Saturday, yesterday, after a big, lovely breakfast with the family, I'm pretty sure I spent some time on Facebook, or something, but then I sat down to read the Nancy Drew novel that had been made into a movie and that I had watched within the last couple weeks. And as I had been warned, the movie only resembled the book in so far that the names were mostly the same and that the same crime had been committed and that there were pigeons. Otherwise, it was rather different... and less silly. Very fun.

For lunch, Mom and I went to the Olive Garden for soup and salad and an order of toasty, cheesy flatbread to share. It was so good! We enjoyed our little treat very much. When we got back, I finished Nancy and took the dog outside.

I went out and took lots of pictures of the lilacs and whatever else, including the two very large mushrooms we have growing. While sitting under one of the fir trees while the rain was pouring for a moment I did my daily sets of push-ups, and I do feel much stronger. But my camera was hard to hold up still afterwords. :)

We also watched the first half of "Gandhi" during chat. I'm afraid I was rather distracted by it, it was so well done. Tonight we finished the last half, and I'm glad we had a break between it. It's very heavy and rather lengthy; but awesome! I enjoyed it very much.

The first thing I did today was sit outside on the front steps with Spiffy to bask in the beautiful sunshine for a moment and listen to the bird's calls. So refreshingly cool and sunny... absolutely perfect weather. I could still wear my sweatshirt, but I didn't really need it. It was right on the edge.

The thing I wanted to get done that I did do was organize my latest couple hundred and back up all 30,000 photos I have stored on my laptop. Yes, that's the actual number I've saved since 2005. LOL!!! It only took up 56 GB. So along with being stored on my main laptop, they're backed up on two different external hard drives now. One I purchased for using during my photo class and the other to store episodes of a show that my brother had downloaded in Yuma. And now I feel like I've done enough to protect my life's hobby.

Lunch was rather late today. But my sister's family came over like usual, just back from their excursion to Disneyland. The kids were acting very well for being so busy and overloaded with fun for a whole week! :)

The dog was very much animated from the baby bunnies that my sister brought over (they do a little breeding) (oh, gosh! how cute they are!), so I took Spiffy on a walk. And that was exciting for him as well because I decided to walk on the opposite side of the street that is usual, so there were all new smells. :)

And I remembered to go to church like I wanted! And it turned out that today was the first in a new series on "The True Church", a study in 1 Corinthians. He laid out all the basics (6 points) of what a true church is from just the first three verses (Paul's greeting). I am always amazed at how much doctrine the Apostles put into their salutations. :) I love it.

He talked about who the church belongs to, a detailed description about sanctification, how Christ-followers are to be holy, how the whole truth of the Bible is universal to all true churches, how Christ must be centrally important, and how true Christians have peace because of God's grace. Whew! It was so good! That last point was to me the most powerful. He quoted a proverb: "A heart at peace gives life to the body." and a note from Psalm 85: "Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other."

Oh, what a beautiful day!

Oooooh!

A whiff of lilac greeted me as I took the dog for a walk last night! There's a gigantic bush just around the corner on our block... and I had forgotten this was their time, even though the little bushes in my own backyard are starting to bloom. "Thanks for taking me on a walk, Doggie Boy!" And it's funny... that's pretty much what it was like. I had taken him outside to go potty and he went and sniffed the mailbox and then went further like he wanted to go on. And it was a beautiful evening, almost as nice as Wednesday night. No golden sunset with peaches, purples, pinks and blues, but it was clear skies.

I've been keeping pretty active: on Wednesday night after work (and after a lovely dinner of meatloaf and potatoes - Mom's meatloaf is yummy!) I went for a bike ride on the Sammamish River Trail. There's a park in downtown Woodinville that I like to start at; it's a good point to either go north to Bothell, Kenmore and Seattle or south to Redmond. Now the last time I went out, I had a flat rear tire from a thorn that went clear through the tire to puncture the tube. When I had it fixed last week, the technician commented that the last people to work on it had my brakes way too tight, so he fixed that too. So when I started to pedal, the resistance was much lighter than what I've known recently, so I really flew. I biked to downtown Redmond, all the way to Hwy 202; I forgot about taking the turn that would take me to Marymoor Park. Anyways, the distance is 7.5 miles between the cities, so I finished after an hour with 15 miles. What's great is that the posted speed limit on the trail is 15 MPH. I was really struck by the gorgeous sunset when I turned around to return. The pinks and yellows were reflecting in the river. And the whole time I was treated to the singing of many different callers... but most of them were hidden in the trees or bushes. I did see ducks on the river and a rabbit on the green, though. Thank the Lord, it's Spring!

After work yesterday (Thursday the 15th - Happy Taxes, everyone) I went to Jazzercise. Because my knees felt so tender last week I opted to do some of the moves "low impact" (not jumping, but marching instead, still with intensity) and it really helped them. It was another teacher I had never seen before, but she did great. Good routine, especially the abdominal work at the end. Mom and Dad were just off to their Bible study when I got home, but spaghetti with Italian sausage meat sauce was waiting on the table upstairs. I'm very proud of myself for only having one serving. Usually I can't stop eating the stuff, it's so good. I took the dog out, cleaned up all the dishes and then Zac called! And he was in unusually high spirits, and we had a nice little conversation. I then read some more of "I, Freddy", a hysterical story about an intellectual hamster. I read the second one last week - Meg found it at the library, and the first one is even funnier. They were written in the late '90's and translated from German. The illustrations rather add to the merriment. :) I just finished the story this afternoon.

Work has kept nice and busy this week, thanks to the quantity of MO's that my coworker got. I got some of my own yesterday, but without those from Deanna on Wednesday and today I would have been twiddling my thumbs.

Working... and Something Else...

All I can remember from Monday is... gee what did I do? Oh... um, I took the dog on a walk for the first time in a long time (and he got worried because we saw so many people on his sidewalk, so our pace was quickened... :) And the only reason I could remember any of this was because stupid "Jack" was on. LOL! At least it's good for something. I remember I washed my bed when I came home from work and I took a shower while it was drying and while "24" was on. And was it just yesterday evening we had that fabulous beef pot roast? Yeah... Wow, how fuzzy can the day before be sometimes! Good news, though: food for the wedding was agreed upon, and everyone was happy. :)

Both yesterday and today at work have been pretty good. I've been helping out with other people's assignments because I have nothing of my own to do. Today I spent the entire morning filing in Doc Control. And tomorrow promises to be more review for a coworker. We got piles of Manufacturing Orders in today.

We found out that Meg's defense of her dissertation is on May 10th, so we'll soon get flights for that. From Netflix today we had "A Canterbury Tale" (1944). It was a strange piece, but rather pleasant. A story of a professor desperate for an audience, and a couple of soldiers and a girl solving a little mystery. A British film. Very nice really.

To sleep.

Sailors, Horses and Historians

or, "What I did with my weekend".

Saturday morning my legs were very, very sore. I got up around 8:00 or so and spent most of the morning setting up my Facebook group for Navy things. I don't know if it was a good idea to do is so far in advance, but I've already been sitting on the idea for a couple months, and I want to see everyone get in it before I go. I think it was a good thing.

My big plan for the weekend was to go horseback riding. I mentioned this to Mom the day before and she also wanted to go so she could measure two of the girls for the wedding (she's making their dresses!). And then suddenly Meg was free because her (almost) other half was suddenly busy... so she came along too! She and Mom took care of the measuring while I got the horses ready... Rooster was such a brat! It took me five minutes to pick one back hoof! (it is the one he's usually bad about, so I wasn't too shocked or anything). But it doesn't make sense. I do it just like all the other ones and Meg says he's been doing it just fine for her. Who knows.

But the day was just lovely! Even though there were a bit of hazy clouds, we could see the freshly-snow-dusted Cascades magnificently. All I needed in terms of the temperature was a thin sweatshirt... and it was beautiful fun. We only saw a few butterflies and robins and sparrows on the ride, but when we were leaving in the car we encountered a doe on the road.

Once back at home, we decided to go out to Mexican for dinner at our favorite little place, Santa Fe Mexican Grill with Dad and Jason as well. It was fabulous, as always. I just love their chicken enchiladas! And then at home again, we stuck in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" with Julie Andrews (1967) and we all enjoyed it during chat. We caught the tail end of a Doctor Who episode while I was just getting on, so that was sort of appropriate. :) The movie was hysterical! I little on the silly side, but that's okay by me! And Mom recognized a few of the other people (since apparently they were famous)... speaking of generation gaps... LOL! It was pretty much the perfect end to a perfect day.

Sunday morning I actually slept in for the first time in weeks! I did wake up for a moment early on, but I didn't wake up until 11:20... and I don't think I got out until 11:50. Aaaahhh! So nice!

For most (the rest) of Sunday I went through some stuff that was stacked on my floor (after lunch of course). My quest to clean up took me through old course packs from college history classes, photo albums, letters from recruiters from when I was 17, scrapbooks I had slapped together with stuff from Jr. High, High School and so on. Goodness gracious. Lots of memories. I got stuck in there practically all night.

I felt really bad about missing the church service I had wanted to go to... and we watched a stupid ol' modern movie after I discovered that fact. I don't much enjoy modern movies compared to the neat older ones I've been treated to lately. It was entertaining to a degree; it was "action packed" for sure, but that was pretty much it ("Wolverine" 2009, Hugh Jackman). Modern screenplays make me cringe. Afterwords, I went back at my room and all the history surrounding me made me forget all about it.

As I Pause For a Moment

I thought I'd take a minute and write something.

After work on Thursday I went directly to Jazzercise for an hour. It might have been the day before when I clunked my knee rather hard on my solid, 1950's aluminum desk at work, turning around to talk to my boss. After Jazzercise my knees were pretty tender (as usually happens, because of the kinds of dancing that we do) but this time, accentuated, because of the prior tenderness.

I got home from working out and found that Mom went to the hospital to get her eye looked at (there was something in it and it came out alright!) and so I had dinner with Meg, played Phase 10 and then stayed up til about 9 doing all the dishes. It felt great to sit down for a bit (finally) so I read the book of Galatians (it's right after 2nd Cor.) and then Mom and Dad returned right after I finished. I was glad they were back okay, but I went straight to bed.

My plan was to get up early so I could leave work early and make it to a Navy workout for the first time ever. My recruiter had mentioned the last time that he wanted me to come to one soon. And I needed my 2nd monthly meeting anyway, so I got up at 6:15 and got to work earlier than I usually do in the week. I kept myself very busy by taking care of some of my coworker's pile of review (she was out today) and the time slipped away so that I left a bit after I wanted to. I was only about 5 minutes late to the workout... wow, it was hard! I felt like I was back in college... Softball workouts... ROTC PT at 6am... uugggg! Except this time I'm not just playing a sport or playing like I was in the military... I am doing it for real!

Got back home and fixed some tacos for lunch and ate with Mom. She had just returned from shopping. I went outside and took pictures (the dog had to go out... so I thought I'd enjoy the sun too) came in, took a shower, and then finally sat down just long enough to ice my poor knee for a half-hour. Then it was up again as I was meeting a coworker in Bellevue for a drink... it was a goodbye for the copy center lady at work who had just quit. She had invited a bunch of different people, but I was the only one from work that came. I met her cousin and his boyfriend, and a couple others. It was a little awkward for me as the two held hands as they sat at the table... I don't like it when anyone does that... it's a little too much PDA; especially when eating. But I did have a nice time; everyone was fun to meet and it was good to say goodbye to my friend.

Tonight we watched "Belles on Their Toes" (1952, Myrna Loy) from Netflix, and I enjoyed it very much. Myrna is always fun to watch and the story is very cute. I have read "Cheaper By the Dozen", but I ought to give this one a whirl as well.

I'm ready to sleep, I think!

Now there's spotty sunshine as Dad and I are home for lunch. But also dark, ominous clouds that have been making the sun disappear sometimes. Mmm... Dad got us a supreme pizza to share from Pizza Hut this noon! Fun!

All Hail, April

A bit of hail this morning. It was rather a rather cold 38 degrees when I got in my car this morning. No wonder it was so hard to get out of my warm bed. We're supposed to get a few feet in the mountains today. What month is it anyway?

Stopping by Yahoo this morning I discovered this article about a new species of monitor lizard that was just discovered in the Philippines. I love monitor lizards, and particularly the largest species, the Komodo Dragon. They seem to be the closest thing we have to living dinosaurs left. So neat!

Better

Although work was difficult (since things are slow) I am doing much better tonight. Had leftovers with Mom and then took a relaxing shower. After that I read 2nd Corinthians, because I seem to remember my pastor saying it was a great book for encouragement. I haven't been spending much time in the Bible this week, so even though it is a good book for encouragement, I think any would have been good for me.

Somebody at work today tested me on the Sailor's Creed! I sent out the link to my Navy blog to many of my friends at work, and I've gotten lots of comments and encouragements from them in return.

Getting Along

Why is it so hard at times just to live with family?

Last night I had a melt down because of various factors (one of which was that I had not cried in a long time), but a lot of it entailed people not getting along over money and wedding plans. I'm frustrated because they're such frivolous things. I wish money wasn't so important and I wish ideas about "the way it has to be" about the wedding weren't so important either. Goodness! A wedding lasts only a few hours! Is it really worth it to deliberate for months about the little things? Will it be worthwhile in the end? Will we look back on all the misunderstanding, miscommunication, arrogance and hurt feelings and say, "Well, thank God we saved $100!" or "Thank God we had chicken at the reception!".

I am partially sorry if any of my family reads this because I know that details actually have to be worked out. But my expectation is that we, as Christians, should do it a little better than we are. I am praying that the Lord will help us communicate clearly and have compassion. What is the point of claiming to be Christian if we don't act with love when it is hard? I know we're not perfect, but being generous on all sides and having a simple, nice wedding is not rocket science, nor does it cost too much.

Thank the Lord there is sleep, that helps soothe my mind and calm my spirit. Everything will be alright if we put our hope in the Lord.

Just Havin' a Good Time

After my lazy Saturday morning, I went out to dinner with my parents and then went out to a wonderfully fun movie, "How To Train Your Dragon" with my friend, Chaya. Much of the appeal was based on the fact that the main dragon behaved much like a dog (much to our delight)... and the result was hysterical. Overall, it was a cute movie, had very good animation and even had a point: even if we are taught to hate or be frightened of someone growing up, we might be able to be friends if we would only get to know each other. :) We had a lovely evening together, and I didn't get home til 20 minutes before midnight.

Sunday I woke up early, went with my parents to church, and was amazed by the brilliant sunshine (even on Easter morning! ... it's usually dismal in the weather department, and by mid-day it had digressed into clouds and rain). Back at home, I played a few hymns on my French horn and had time to lie down for a bit before everyone started arriving. We had a very large group of people over for a big lunch: fourteen, in fact. It was my Aunt Penny's birthday the day before, and some of our relatives were visiting from Eastern Washington. There were lots of chairs to be procured, but in the end we made it work. For a relaxing evening movie (after all our guests had departed) we watched "The Major and the Minor" (1942, Ginger Rodgers), and I found it just as funny as it sounded. What a darling little movie!

Oh, I recently found out that the Old Time Radio association is having another convention in the end of June, like they had last year. Except along with Gloria McMillan, they're also having Leonard Smith, who played alongside her in Our Miss Brooks. Should be a good time, as the two of them, with some others will re-create an episode.

I've spent a lot of time at work today talking with people about the Navy. Word is spreading around and people are stopping by to talk. I feel like a bit of a celebrity for a bit here. :)

Time for sleep.

Load Off My Shoulders

I finally told my boss Wednesday in the late afternoon about my plans for leaving and joining the Navy. It's been wearing me down, not telling them. And today we had a meeting in the m0rning to break it to the rest of the group. People were guessing something was up. :) It was wonderful to tell them. I was glad, though, that I waited til my shipping date was set, and til everything was relatively quiet at work. I really love all five of the ladies I work with; they truly are good friends. We've promised to keep in touch after I go... writing letters and sending pictures. So nice!

For lunch today, right after our meeting, my boss Jeanne and I went and got some Thai food from one of our favorite places, and we sat around the table in QDC and talked more and more. I am so relieved :)

On Monday, we ended up watching "The Men" from Netflix. I had ordered it because it had Teresa Wright and sounded like a wonderful drama/love story, and it really was. Another good one about WWII paraplegics and how they cope. So good! It took surprising turns and ended well. What's funny is that we ended up watching another Teresa Wright film on Wednesday evening (not really on purpose either)! "Mrs. Miniver"... and everybody knows about that one, so I won't belabor you about how I loved it. :)

Today there was a district Navy meeting in Lynnwood at the recruiting center at the Alderwood Mall. Check out toady's Navy post to read about that.

Right after the meeting I had some dinner at the very convenient Panera Bread just steps away. Had the half & half Sierra Turkey and tomato soup... Mmm. I quickly went in one store as I was on my way back to the car... because most of the things in there looked like something Betty Roberts would buy. On my way home I decided to go to Fred's to use the gift card the ladies got me for my birthday. I found the prettiest Easter-colored top that was way on sale.

Now I am finally home and I am very tired. Just took Acetaminophen for an acute headache... I think it's time for bed!
